Survivor 48: Episode 6 Recap

Ladies and Gentleman, it's merge time babyyyyyyyyy.

This season has yet to disappoint. There's been one "bad" episode the entire season, but this has been far and away the best season of the new era, and has the potential for an all-time season.

LET'S MERGE!

Joe and Eva back together, Joe and David bonding over drinking a gallon of milk a day - absolutely absurd, Cedrek proving to be a liability, and the hatred for Charity by everyone remaining.

As soon as they get to the beach, of course there is going to be a random advantage given to the new tribe, and of course Sai has to be the one to find it.

She honestly might be the luckiest contestant in Survivor history up to this point. It is insane the advantages she's found so far, yet no one - well, super close tonight, can gain the courage to send this girl home.

Getting right to the action with the first single immunity challenge where Sai just gets to skip the first part and jump ahead to the end at a chance to win immunity, there was zero shot this girl was going to win so better to get that advantage than another one later in the game.

Oh, and how about Mary with the smoothest glide in the mud that I've ever seen in my life?

That may have been the most impressive feat of all time on Survivor. And that includes Gabler winning season 43.

With impressive comes probably the single most pathetic performance I've ever seen in a challenge coming from, drumroll please........ CEDREK.

The biggest liability both physically and socially this game has ever seen. I'm convinced this guy just has zero clue how to even climb a ladder considering he didn't know how to use his legs in the slightest and had to have both Joe and Mitch physically pull him over the ledge to get to the top.

Just complete incompetence from this guy. How in the hell did this guy get through medical school?

With the team of Joe, Eva, Cedrek, Mitch and Charity losing the first part of the challenge, the remaining bunch get to fight for the first sole immunity challenge of the season. Lucky for us, this challenge just didn't seem like Sai had a snowball's chance of winning and she drops pretty early, leaving it down to David, Kyle and Star duking it out at the end - and David just looks like a warrior out there.

But Mr. Milk couldn't come away with the win in the end and the first immunity challenge goes to Kyle.

To the merge feast we go.

Now call me crazy, but how in the hell does anyone else besides Kyle get to go to this feast? Yeah they won the first part of the challenge but how in the hell do we just send people to the merge feast if we aren't legit merged until after tribal? Just doesn't make any sense to me in the slightest.

Anyway. Lots of names being thrown around at this feast including Eva, because of her idol, and Charity, just so that Sai gets the votes off her is what I have to guess.

But there's just no shot Eva gets voted out tonight for three reasons:

A) she has an idol

2) she has a strong alliance with the guy that one individual immunity

D) knowing Survivor, they threw her name in the ring way too early in the episode

Back at camp Mitch is just cool, calm and collected, even when he was asked if he was nervous - just shrugs it off and says "eh" and moves on with his life.

When everyone gets back from the merge feast, the talking begins, and of course Sai has to rub it in everyone's face of what was served at the feast - just a complete jackass move. That alone would have gotten me to send her home.

But hey, I guess the next best thing was to work Charity's name into the conversation, especially since she threw Eva's name in the mix to begin with.

Usually creating an alliance with the physically strong people on the island will backfire against you, but tonight it proved opposite as soon as Charity said Eva as a person to go home, and that was the kiss of death for her.

Especially at tribal when she was talking about the disfunction at camp - although Sai tried to get her hat in the ring for loudest mouth of all time at that tribal.

By the way, who in the hell would vote for Cedrek in that situation? That's just going to put a target on your back down the road.

I was really hoping for a tie here and let it go to rocks to decide who goes home between Sai and Charity, but I guess we finally found out why no one really likes her at camp because she won the unpopular vote at tribal and away she goes.

I really have zero clue how the hell Sai keeps advancing week after week, but at least it seems like the "strong man" alliance is going to pick the tribe apart one by one until it gets down to the wire, but that's how the game should be played.
