Spoilers Warning: Dozen Weekly Recap

cday182

What a week to recap for the Dozen Trivia League. We had blowouts, cheating allegations, and a new number one team! If you have not checked out this past week’s matches, move it to the top of your to-do list ASAP. The Dozen is heating up, boys, and there looks to be no dawg days of the season ahead only battles for the playoffs.

Let’s take a look back though at our matches:

GEN XYZ scores 15 straight to blitz Foreplay 20-5

Foreplay started this match as hot as they could, scoring the first 3 points and jumping out to a 3-0 lead over Gen XYZ. New final score captain Trent looked to be the change needed for the boys. But then the unthinkable happened shattering the Dozen record books, Gen XYZ went on a 15-0 run and had the Foreplay boys’ minds in a pretzel. Everything was working in Large, Vibbs, and Ev's favor looking unstoppable.

Large led the charge with 11.7 pts in the 20-5 final. This was exactly what they needed, coming off of a terrible match full of blunders. Their first win of the season could be just what they need to get back into the playoff mix.

Meanwhile, the fan favorites the Dozen Trivia’s punching bag seem to have taken another blow.

Is this the knockout punch? No way with these guys. You know they’ll come ready for their next match with that same shock-the-world attitude. Though… come on, Jeff D. Lowe you need to give us what we all want: the Grinders, Icedogs, and Foreplay in a little round-robin action.

Macrodosing beats Charity Case amid Gia Cheating Allegations

Our second match of the week, in the moment, looked like an innocently tight matchup between two teams looking to get into the playoff mix. Macrodosing looked to be at their best, scoring 15 in a close win over Charity Case. First off, this was huge for them to stay in the hunt for the play-ins.

But the big story broke after the match, as many on the internet began making allegations of cheating. For Charity Case, Gia pulled off a miracle answer after a bricked phone-a-friend by Mintzy. Now, I will say, she did look to be fidgeting around a bit, and not knowing how to pronounce the brand looks tough. She has denied all of the accusations, though, and to me if she did do it, it would probably make more sense to just say “Yeah, my bad,” take the small fine, and move on.

So at this point, we should move on...But Gia needs to now be very, very on point to avoid bringing any more unwanted attention to possible cheating.

NEW #1 as Minihane handles Ponies in Sunday Night Clash

In recent weeks, the Booze Ponies have been looking damn near unbeatable, but Minihane felt his boys were ready after two straight blowout wins.

He was RIGHT.

Minihane, Klemmer, and Fox were humming. Minihane finally has two very competent teammates, and they are looking like title contenders. Of course, this wasn’t the best effort we’ve seen from the Ponies they had a couple of missteps, including their double, which hurts since they lost by 2. Overall, this shouldn’t hurt them too much maybe even serves as the wake-up moment they needed.

Meanwhile, we have a new number one in Minihane. They’ll be tough to dethrone too, as this team is very balanced with their knowledge. The one trip-up for them could be very recent sports history otherwise, they are locked in right now.

The Dozen Trivia continues to give us the best content every week. Now the question becomes: Who’s next to challenge for the top spot?Yak? Ziti? Experts? Whoever takes the shot better be ready, because this won’t be an easy task.
