Super Bowl 59 in the books. A masterclass game by the Eagles' defense. For those lame "what else could you have been doing"…seriously, it’s the Super Bowl…score watchers, don’t let the final score of 40-22 fool you into thinking this was an almost shootout and that the Chiefs' offense was just a play or two away.
The Eagles' defense, from the jump, had the Chiefs' O-line in living hell. Mahomes was looking lost and very human for the first time since his last Super Bowl defeat against the Bucs. Though the Eagles' offense couldn’t seem to take advantage…still only leading 10-0 in the 2nd quarter despite Kansas City only running 10 offensive plays to their 10 first downs…a Jalen Hurts pick even helped give life to Kansas City. A game-changer was needed, and one man was ready for his moment…

Cooper DeJean (any true ball watcher just broke into song as they read his name) as I PREDICTED (yes, I deserve the shoutout) picked Mahomes, but wasn’t finished, as he ran it back for the score. From there, the floodgates opened, with the Eagles scoring 34 points before the lowly KC offense could muster up any points. DeJean was ready for this moment, and I’m sure he will be getting plenty of flowers now from the likes of LeBron (booo, sorry Lakers peeps).
In a game that was still very much possible to flip in favor of Mahomes as he had done all season…DeJean turned into Captain America Avengers: Endgame style instead, rising to the challenge and taking over the game for his team. If not for Hurts’ big 2nd half, DeJean or defensive end Josh Sweat (2.5 sacks) would probably be up on the stage in a tug-of-war for the MVP (honestly, there should be an offensive and defensive award).
I know what you’re thinking…"Bro, we get it, you like Cooper." Yes, but also, dude deserves this attention, as both can be true. I’m glazing (as the kiddos say), and he changed the game for good in favor of an Eagles ass-whoopin’. Either way, get used to hearing the roars of 🎵“Cooper DeJean is not a safety, he’s just a corner that will lockdown your number 1, DeJean is CB1”🎵 all over our social media this week.
